Sustainable performance coaching for professionals, founders, and education leaders.
From the outside, you're capable, ambitious, and delivering. Leading well, holding a lot, getting it done.
But underneath, your energy, clarity, or capacity is quietly eroding and you can't quite explain why.
I work with high-functioning professionals, founders, and education leaders to build the physiological and behavioural foundations that make sustainable performance possible. Not by pushing harder, but by addressing what's actually driving the depletion.
I draw on coaching psychology, stress physiology, and evidence-informed behaviour change to support the kind of resilience that sustains — under real pressure, over the long term.
Performing sustainably starts here.
I support professionals, founders, and education leaders to:
Lead and perform under pressure without accumulating cost to their health or energy
Build stress resilience grounded in physiology, not willpower
Replace counterproductive patterns with habits that hold in real working conditions
Develop the capacity to sustain high performance across a career, not just the short term
This isn't about coping strategies or pushing through. It's about building the foundations that make everything else possible.

Lead Well: Stress resilience wellbeing intensive
A focused stress management session for founders and small business owners who need clarity, calm, and direction — fast.
This 90-minute 1:1 intensive is designed for founders experiencing high stress, mental overload, or decision fatigue who want practical support without committing to a longer coaching programme.
Ahead of the session, you’ll complete a Stress & Wellbeing Assessment, which we review together during the session. This allows us to quickly identify your key stress drivers, nervous system load, and current capacity.
The session combines stress education, coaching, and nervous system regulation, helping you move out of reactivity and into clearer thinking and steadier leadership.
You’ll leave with:
A clear understanding of your personal stress patterns
Practical tools to regulate stress in high-pressure moments
A short, personalised action plan you can implement immediately
This intensive is ideal if you want effective stress management support, quickly and pragmatically.
Lead Well: Stress resilience and wellbeing programme
A 1:1 programme for professionals and founders who want sustainable resilience — not burnout.
This is my signature stress management programme for professionals and founders who are high-performing, responsible for a lot, and want to lead well without sacrificing their health or energy.
The programme begins with a Stress & Wellbeing Assessment, reviewed in depth during the first session alongside education on what stress actually is and how it impacts your nervous system, focus, and decision-making.
Over four sessions, we use a multi-modal approach that blends coaching, stress education, nervous system regulation, and behaviour change to support real, sustainable change.
Across the programme, we focus on:
Understanding your personal stress signature
Regulating stress in real working conditions
Creating a realistic, personalised Stress & Wellbeing Plan
Building accountability that fits business life
By the end of the programme, founders typically feel calmer under pressure, clearer in their thinking, and more confident sustaining healthy habits alongside growth.
This programme is for founders who want long-term stress resilience and wellbeing, not short-term coping strategies.

Stress & Capacity Check-In
A compassionate, body-based self-assessment
Stress is not just about workload or mindset. It’s shaped by how much the nervous system is holding, the level of support available, and how safe the body feels to settle.
This short check-in offers a structured way to notice how stress and capacity are showing up for you right now — without judgement, diagnosis, or pressure to change anything.
It’s designed as a moment of pause and awareness, and something you can return to whenever you want a clearer sense of where you are.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you're performing well on the outside but quietly aware that your current pace isn't sustainable, this work is designed for you. You don't need to be in crisis, in fact, the best results come when you're still functioning but ready to build something more solid before things tip.
-
We start with a conversation to understand where you are and what you need. From there, I design a programme around your goals drawing on coaching, and different stress management and resilience building modalities. Sessions are structured but responsive, so the work evolves as you do.
-
Yes. Alongside individual coaching, I work with schools, trusts, and organisations to support staff wellbeing, leadership resilience, and sustainable performance. This can take the form of coaching programmes, consultancy, or staff workshops, shaped around your setting and priorities.
-
It's forward-focused and practical. We're not unpacking the past, we're building the foundations that let you perform well without the cost to your health and energy. It draws on evidence-based approaches but feels nothing like a corporate training day.
-
Sessions are available online or in person in South East London. Organisational work can be delivered on-site nationally, by agreement.
-
It can be. Hypnotherapy is available as a complementary addition to coaching where it's relevant to your goals. It's never assumed or automatic if it's a good fit, we'll discuss it and agree it together.
About me
Hi, I'm Elaine Cernuto, a Sustainable Performance Coach specialising in leadership capacity, stress resilience, and sustainable performance, with a career spent inside education and government.
I began in the classroom, teaching in primary schools across London for over a decade, from the independent sector to some of the most deprived communities in the capital. I led on Early Years and trained as a SENCO, working closely with children with SEND and developing a deep commitment to inclusive, high-quality education that has never left me. I still tutor a small number of children with SEND privately today.
From the classroom, I moved into central government at the Department for Education, working in the London Region. There I held strategic relationships with academy trust CEOs, local authority education leads, and diocesan directors, carrying oversight of schools and trusts across London's most complex educational landscape. I assessed mainstream, SEND, and AP free schools across London, the South East, and the East of England. I worked across safeguarding, governance, and crisis management and later contributed to early years policy. I also coached colleagues throughout this time, and sat on the DfE's Women's Health network, where I supported women navigating conditions including endometriosis, PMOS (PCOS) and PMDD — experience that laid the foundation for the specialist women's health work I am now developing..
Alongside my DfE role, I served as Vice Chair of Governors at a school, leading on Early Years and SEND. That experience brought a further dimension, sitting within a governing body, contributing to headteacher performance management, senior leadership recruitment, and liaison with the diocese and local authority. It deepened my understanding of how governance, leadership, and whole-school wellbeing interconnect, and reinforced something I had seen at every level of the system: that wellbeing at the heart of a school community is not a nice-to-have. It is what makes everything else possible.
I know what it is to sit across the table from the leaders I now work with, as a colleague, an assessor, a governor, and a policy professional. I understand the pressures on their organisations, the weight of the decisions they carry, and what it takes to lead well inside a system that rarely makes it easy.
I also know from personal experience — what sustained pressure in this sector does over time. Navigating my own career transition and the impact of years in high-demand roles is part of what brought me to coaching. Not as a crisis, but as a recognition: that the people holding the most responsibility are often the ones with the least support for their own capacity and wellbeing.
That recognition is the foundation of everything I now offer.
My practice draws on coaching psychology, stress physiology, HeartMath, Oxygen Advantage breathwork, and behaviour change — practical, evidence-informed approaches that work at the level of the body as well as the mind. I hold a Level 5 Professional Coaching qualification and EMCC membership, and I am completing a Health Coaching qualification with the College of Naturopathic Medicine — expanding into functional approaches to women's health and energy from early 2027.
I work with a small number of clients and organisations at any time. That's deliberate because this work is genuinely bespoke, and I am genuinely accountable to your outcomes.
Ambition made sustainable. For the people who carry a lot, and want to keep going - well.
